A legitimate question. The most
satisfying thing I can imagine doing is to create something original, and I have
done that with some success for as long as I can remember.
Pride of creation has been enough reward for most of my
ideas. Sure, I've had a few spasms in which I lusted
for fame and fortune, but the fever always quickly
subsided when I invariably became more interested in
the next new idea. Basically, I have not given much thought to making money or seeing that my ideas
were available for others to use.
Earning money
is not high on my list of priorities. I'm far from
rich, but as a retired 83 year old widower, I have
sufficient funds to to do whatever strikes my fancy. Being wealthy
would not change my way of living one bit, for my
cravings are modest. It's only natural as we listen to our
clock's relentless clicking, that we ponder about
where we've been, but more importantly, how do we want
to spend our remaining time on this earth. We pose the
question to ourselves. Will we leave any lasting
footprints, or will they be blown away with that final
puff of ashes to ashes? I suspect that everyone wants to leave this world with
something that was not here before we came. When I’m called to
report to that great engineering ranch in the sky (or where ever it is that engineers
go), I wish to have scattered my ideas and writings around so that any passerby
can pick one up and run with it. That is my goal. To that end, a website
appears to be the
most efficient way to spread my message.
FREE INVENTIONS: All of my inventions are free with the
clear understanding that they may or may not be practical, they have not been
checked for prior art, and they have not been assessed for safe use. These
things must be considered by those wishing to exploit them. For more on free
inventions, click Free
Inventions. For free invention list click Free
Invention List.
WRITING: For
all the personal pleasure that I receive from writing,
it would not be nearly as valuable to me if I simply
put my creations on a closet shelve and forgot about
them. I write to entertain readers, and therefore I
invite you to check out some of my short stories and one of my three novels. For more on writing click Writing.
For a list of my short stories click Short
Story List or for excerpts of my books, go to Books
by Bob Brown.
Best regards to all,
Bob Brown
